"Scientific Seminar For Bio-Medical Laboratory Technologists' 2008" was organised by Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI) and All India Mediacal Laboratory Technologist Association (AIMLTA), Gujarat state on 14th December, 2008 at the G. C. & R. I., Ahmedabad. The purpose of Seminar was to bring all Laboratory technologists' under one roof and provide them continuous education.

Our Guest of Honour Dr. Amarjit Singh, Commissioner of Health Services, Dr. Pankaj Shah our Honorable Director and Shree A. R. Desmukh President AIMLTA, have enriched our seminar by their gracious presence, valuable guidance and support.

Seminar comprises five Fundamental lectures from eminent experts, to enrich our knowledge and skills. Dr. Deepak Joshi, Head of Pathology department V. S. Hospital had shared their experience on Techniques in Diagnostics Cytology. Dr. Priti Trivedi, Associated Professor of G. C. & R. I. had enlightened our knowledge on Histotechnology-Art or Science. Dr. Nabajyoti Chaudhary from Prathama blood bank had shared his insight on subject Basics of ELISA & PCR in infectious marker testing. Dr. Parijath Goswami, Head of Microbiology Department GC&RI had shared her experience on Clinical Micobiology Laboratory, Organisation, Management and Laboratory Safety. Dr. Karthik Dave had provided basic information on Laboratory Accrediation- concepts.

More than 400 delegates from Gujarat and various part of India had participated in this seminar and made seminar vibrant and livelier. Thirty one delegates presented poster on different subject of pathology. Cumulative and collective efforts of various individuals of GC&RI, AIMLTA and all our Vendors made the seminar a grand sucess. In a nutshell Seminar was a good learning experience and serve academic feast to all delegates.
