A formal meeting of patients of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and GIST (Gastrointestinal Stormal tumor) enrolled under GIPAP was organized by GCRI and Max Foundation, India on Saturday 13 th Dec2008 at CAMA HALL between 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM .GIPAP (Glivec International Patient Assistance Program) has been running in this institute since March 2001.Total 1,200 Patients have availed the benefit of the program so far. The actual cost of treatment is 1,200,000 lacks per year and patient gets it absolutely free under this program. The function was organized for 1 st time in December 20005. During this event, about 170 patients with their relatives participated in the function. Welcome address was delivered by Hon. Director Dr.Pankaj M Shah which followed lightening of lamp ceremony by the patients, the director and people from Max Foundation.

The live interaction with patients and treating physicians took place. Then patient's testimonial by Viji Vyankatesh and 4 patients took place.
