28 th annual convention of Indian Association for Cancer Research (IACR) was held at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore during February 21-24, 2009. The theme of the convention was “Emerging Challenges and Approaches in Cancer Biology”. Indian Institute of Science invited the convention as a part of Centenary Celebrations of the Institute.

| There are a large number of life members/annual members/student members in IACR from GCRI. Most of the times there have been at least on member in executive committee of IACR. In the newly elected executive committee of IACR, Dr. Rajendra I. Dave is a member . Dr. Prabhudas S. Patel was Joint Secretary in the last executive committee (2005-08). He is also Editor of IACR Newsletter since last three years is continued for this year also. |
| Senior and Junior Members from Research Wing regularly participate in a big way at the annual conventions of IACR every year. | IACR also organized an essay competition on (1) Bioinformatics in Cancer Drug Designing and (2) Human Papilloma Virus and Cancer.
