The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute is recognized as Regional Cancer Centre by the Government of India. International level Cancer Education and treatment centre is run by the Institute since last three and half decades with the generous donation of people of Gujarat State , grant from Govt. of Gujarat as well as Central Government. Institute has also work for the cancer control in different Districts. Now, Cancer institute wants to develop facilities for treatment and diagnosis in the various districts of the Gujarat State . To achieve this goal the institute has decided to provide Satellite Cancer diagnosis and treatment services on primary basis to two charitable hospitals and one Government Hospital . We have planned to provide such services at Sarvajanik Hospital-Modasa, Santokba Hospital- Dholka and Government Hospital - Siddhpur. The Hospital's Medical Team has visited the above three hospitals. The aims and objectives of these services are as under.

1. The Satellite Care Centre will be run jointly by The Gujarat Cancer Research Institute and above hospitals. Every Saturday, the Health checkup clinic will be run at the centre. This will provide opportunity for early detection of common cancer should be early detection of early cancer of Head and Neck cancer, Breast cancer and Cervical cancer. The basic health checkup will include examine by Physician, Surgeon, Dentist and Gynec etc. the Health Checkup file on the basis of Health checkup file will be provided to all the individual enroll in the form the checkup for vili test, pap test will be performed in all married woman patients above age of 30. Vili test for all woman, pep test when required will be provided to all woman going on for health checkup. Early sign of the cancer, danger signal of the cancer will be popularized in the surrounding areas by Health Education material and those having centers to encourage come forward for this health checkup services. Approximately 25 persons will be entered each week.
2. On alternate Saturday, a Cancer Surgeon and a filed worker will visit the Satellite Centre and provide their services from 8.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The Cancer Surgeon will perform all cancer related surgeries which is feasible at given hospital. They will mainly concentrate on diagnostic procedure like Biopsy and Operations which can be under taken without adding much risk to the quality of care. He will also conduct the health checkup clinic along-with the local staff. He will assist in planning care of advance cases help in solving the problems like side effect of Chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
3. The Surgeon will also undertake follow-up of the case who have successfully completed the treatment at Cancer Institute and ask for regular follow-up for detecting early recurrence. Due note of such cases will be made along and will be entered in the main case of Cancer Institute. This will avoid multiple visits to patient to the Cancer Institute.
4. Many patients with advance cancer and with severe pain require Morphine pain control.
5. Field worker will also collect data of new cancer cases detected by the pathologist. Field worker collect details about Cancer Atlas Project.
6. Each Cancer centres a permanent exhibit on Cancer and Tobacco Hazards will be displayed.
