A Conference on National Cancer Control: Present status and Future prospects was organized on 31st January 2010 on the eve of GCRI formation day(1st Feb) and WHO Cancer awareness day (4th Feb). This Conference was organized with an intention to spread cancer awareness and sensitize doctors and paramedical personnel working in the CHCs and PHCs for better cancer care & control.

This conference was attended by 25 RCC Directors across the country and Deputed Doctors working in peripheral area of the state in various CHC and PHC along with Key personnel from various hospitals with Oncology wings in the state. Conference started with the Welcome address by Shri Pankaj Patel, Executive Chairman & Vice president Gujarat Cancer Society and Chairman GCRI.

Conference was inaugurated by Hon Governor of Gujarat state Dr. Smt. Kamla Beniwal and Hon Health Minister of Gujarat State Shri Jaynarayan Vyas. Keynote address and lectures by invited speakers were stimulating and informative. Overall the conference was a great success.
