The Training workshop in infection prevention is organized from 2nd to 7th February, 2009 in view of NABH for hospital. This one week program is a comprehensive training involving all aspects of infection control like overview of Infection control program in hospitals, Microbiological aspects, about Nosocomial infections, sterilization and disinfections, Needle stick injuries, CSSD, antibiotic policies, dental infections and HCW safety.

The workshop was inaugurated on 2 nd Feb 2008 . Dr. M. M. Anchaliya and Dr. Paresh Dave inaugurated the workshop and addressed the gathering. A workshop manual containing guidelines for implementation of different infection prevention protocols in hospital was released. Dr. Pankaj M. Shah, Director, GCRI, Dr. Parijath Goswami Professor & Head, Microbiology, Deputy Directors and RMO were a part of the team for organizing this workshop.

Participants of the workshop are from hospitals of Navsari, Government Dental college, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bhavnagar, Amareli, Mental Health Vadodara, Patan, Godhara, Junagadh, Nadiad, Civil hospital Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Porbandar and GCRI. The concluding session will be on 7th, Feb.09. The Participants will be evaluated for the course and they will be awarded prizes as well as certificates.
