The department is fully equipped with one telecobalt theratron 780 unit, one Bhabhatron unit, three Electa Linear accelerators, one Varian Linear Accelerator, one Varian Simulator, one Electa Simulator, three Nucleotron Brachytherapy units, one contact therapy machine, and 3DCRT, IMRT, SRT, SRS facility.

Activities:

Clinical: The department is treating patients coming from nearby cities and also from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. It also participates in GCRI academic meetings.

Academic: Regular lectures and teaching programme conducted for resident doctors in department.

Research: Maintenance of patient’s record and statistical data analysis is done. The data is presented in national level conferences and published in national / international journals.

Professional Contribution and Recognition: Dr. Pooja Nandwani Patel, Junior Lecturer, won Best Oral Proffered Paper Award in Head and Neck malignancies at 31st National Conference of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI), Hyderabad, in November 2009. She also won Basic Science Research Award for poster presentation at 51st Annual Meeting of American Society for Therapeutic Radiodiagnosis and Oncology (ASTRO), Chicago, in November 2009. She has got Brachytherapy Fellowship at Houston, Texas, in October 2009
