 Services-Para Clinical Diagnostic Services-Radiodiagnosis
Imaging Services:

The Department is fully equipped to cater complete range of diagnostic imaging with D igital Radiography, Ultrasonography (USG), Colour Doppler, Multi slice Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography and Interventional radiology with PACS (Picture Archival and Communication System) for storage and retrieval.

 
Procedures:
Diagnostic Imaging

Skeletal Survey: All routine radiography is performed using the Computerized Radiography (CR) system, and the radiographs of chest, bones, OPG etc, as well as contrast procedures are acquired in the digital format and stored in the PACS (Picture Archival and Communication System).

Ultrasound examinations of the abdomen, pelvis and small parts, as well as intracavitary (transrectal and transvaginal) examinations.

Mammography and ultrasound guided needle biopsies for suspected Breast lesions

Color Doppler scanners are extensively used to assess the vascularity of the tumors and Deep Vein Thrombosis

Multi-slice CT for the early detection, diagnosis and treatment planning of cancer.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the whole body is performed in our department on the << Wipro GE Signa 1.5>> Tesla MRI System. 

Interventional
Diagnostic Procedures:
Ultrasound Guided Fine Needle Aspiration cytology (FNAC) and Biopsy ; CT Guided  FNAC and Biopsy ; Diagnostic aspiration of ascitic or pleural fluid for cytology
Therapeutic Procedures:

Biliary drainage, Nephrostomy Drainage, Abscess  Drainage, Chest Tube Placement

Pain Management:
To improve the quality of life of the cancer patients, various image guided procedures are carried out including
  • Image Guided nerve Blocks like Coeliac Plexus Block, Stellate Ganglion Block
  • Vertebroplasty, Kyphoplasty
  • Radiofrequency Ablation
Tumor Ablation Therapy:

The tumors which are not suitable for surgery can now be treated by ablation (Both chemical and Radiofrequency)

The IR unit is akso committed to provide services e.g. Drainage Procedures for Abscesses , Cholangitis , Obstructive Uropathy.                

Activities:
Clinical:

The Department of Radio diagnosis conducts radiological part of health checkup programme at COC vasna. X-ray, mammography and Ultrasonography are performed for early detection of malignancy.

Academic:

Regular lectures, Case presentation, journal presentation, interesting case discussion conducted for resident doctors in the department.

Research:
We are maintaining patient's data and images. We are generating statistical data and studies which is published in national and international conferences.
Public Services:

The department is conducting radiological investigations of Health Checkup programme, being conducted at COC. We are also conducting radiological part of IAS officers health checkup programme and finalizing IAS health check up reports at our department. The department is also running Radiological investigation part of Sanjivani Rath which includes Mammography & USG for early detection of cancer.
