A meeting was arranged with all talatis from Ahmedabad district in coordination with Ahmedabad District Health Department at Cama Hall of The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute.

On 30/11/08 total 93 talatis from Dascroi, Bavala, Dholka and Sanand taluka and on 4/12/08 total 130 talatis from Dhandhuka, Barvala, Ranpur, Viramgam, Mandal and Detroj taluka were present.

Dr. R. R. Vaidya, Chief District Health Officer, welcomed all Taluka Development Officers and Talatis from different talukas. He explained Birth and Death Registration forms in details and gave importance to all talatis in proper filling up the forms. He emphasized to complete the form with proper cause of death in form no. 2.

Dr. Parimal J Jivarajani, Assistant Professor, Community Oncology talked about Rural Cancer Registry – Ahmedabad District and Ahmedabad District Cancer Control Programme. He explained the importance of Death registration form no 2 in Registry programme.

Dr. D.M. Patel, Additional Director, Statistics explained Marriage registration form in details. He announced that to get complete death information from Ahmedabad district all Taluka Development Officer will send second copy of form no 2 to Cancer hospital through Ahmedabad Jilla Panchayat.

Dr. Pankaj M Shah, Director, The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, welcomed all talatis as Gam-Secretaries. He talked on different schemes which are beneficial for poor cancer patients. He also announced that Hospital will help those poor patients with having letter from talati. He also asked to send Cancer patient's data and all Death information from their area for strengthening the Ahmedabad Rural Registry.

Shri A J Shah, District Development Officer, appreciated Dr. Pankaj Shah, Director for excellent services offered by Cancer Hospital to entire state of Gujarat . He appealed all Taluka Development Officers and Talatis to help as maximum as possible to strengthen Ahmedabad Rural Registry and Ahmedabad Cancer Control Programme.
