Dr. Pankaj M. Shah, Hon. Director, GCRI visited Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences - SKIMS, Srinagar on 2nd March 2009. He found compatible Teleconference facilities and initiated interactive tele-events between the two Institutes.

On 19 March, 2009 a live teleconference on "Carcinoma Esophagus pattern and management at GCRI" was attended by Faculty members and residents from Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences - SKIMS, Srinagar, Kashmir and Faculty members, invited experts, guests and residents at GCRI.

Dr Jayant Gawande, Dr. Prakash B., Dr Chirag Amin, Dr. Abhishek Kookroo, Dr. Apurva Patel, Dr. Kiran Kothari, Dr. R.K. Vyas presented GCRI experience, state of art facilities available and data of their patients. There was a live interactive session. The event was coordinated by Dr. Bharat J.
